Electric Friends CD Release Party Rocks the Venture Center
A capacity crowd packed the Venture Center on September 9, for a noon concert to mark the release of the Electric Friend’s new CD, “The Deep Zone.”
Traditional rock guitar riffs married to a driving but mostly drum-less rhythm, were the foundation for a sound whose raw personality flowed from the unique poetry of its lyric. A “by-invitation-only†audience was literally jumping to a sound that had apparently caught them by surprise by both the quality of the group’s live performance and by the depth and original personality of their music.
The CD includes already famous tunes like “Connect Four†and others along with some new material like “Pull the Fire Alarm†which, until the release party had not been introduced.
The feel-good quality of the music had the room pumped but happy, and the event was nothing short of a smash. Band members rotated to the mike for solo performances and the offering was not only rich but broad and varied.
Anchoring the band is the guitar work of A.C. Black. Manager and program Director Mike K. has also now taken on the role of vocalist supporting the harmonies that have become the Friend’s trademark.
Though rumors of a major record deal have been circling for weeks, Deep Zone CD’s are currently exclusively available through the Venture Academy. Upcoming dates for the band will be published on this website and http://www.myspace.com/theelectricfriends is a link to the Electric Friends MySpace page which includes a sample of the Deep Zone tracks.
