Jingle All the Way
The weather outside was frightful but the party inside was delightful, actually, it rocked! The annual Jingle Ball hosted by Venture recreation on December 5, at the Comfort Inn, was a gala romp, family event and traditional celebration of the season, all rolled into one.
There were lots of hugs and all the trappings of a Courier and Ives holiday, but, plenty of foot stomping fun too. And, in the spirit of this intrepid group, the Jingle Ball had the revelry and glitz of a Hollywood premiere!
Ryan and Peter K. tore up the dance floor, demonstrating all their latest moves to the bevy of lovely ladies on hand. Everyone was dressed to the nines, but Jennel, Theresa, Angel and Eileen were especially striking, strutting their stuff in their most dazzling holiday party finery.
For George, Ruth, Shelby and some of the more venerated members of the Venture family, it was an event to share a memory in the company of old friends. Denise, Harvey and Gary were there to impress the ladies. And, for Meagan R, the Council’s newly elected President, it was another opportunity to press the flesh and work the room on behalf of her 2010 political agenda.
An early snowstorm threatened to dampen the festivities but somehow Mother Nature managed to hold off long enough with the white stuff to get a good party in. As usual, Terry Freson and her staff orchestrated a great event and the Venture staff on hand were all game for a good time. Joining the guys on the dance floor and bringing cheer to the day, the staff really made it special.
There was something for everyone. Even Venture Executive Director, Dan Lukens joined in the fun as he hopped about the dance floor with the guys like a nervous kangaroo. And, of course, there was an appearance by the jolly man with the white beard—Santa who brought gifts and good cheer. It was a gathering in the best traditions of the Venture spirit with joy and good tidings to all.
