Nurse Appreciation Week

Nurse Appreciation Week

The week of May 6 to May 13 was National Nurses Appreciation Week and the Camp Venture agency marked this time with some reflection on their contribution.

As Executive Director DanLukens explains: “Nurses at Camp Venture not only care for our clients, they help us to care for them as well. It is by their professional knowledge and skill that we keep our people safe and healthy. And, it is by their dedication and commitment that they example the best aspirations of our work and of our agency.

When I speak to our nurses it is so often in the context of the most difficult aspect of what we do. That is, to be there for one of our people who is nearing the end of their lives. Through these and other circumstances, I have come to know the extraordinary job that our nurses do.”

A luncheon for the day program nurses on Tuesday May 10, and a mid-morning gathering for the residential program nurses on Thursday May 12, offered an opportunity for Dorothy Cox, the agency’s Deputy Director and Dan Lukens to say thank you on behalf of the Venture family.
