St. Patrick’s Day Parade

St. Patrick’s Day Parade

Venture marchers strutted their stuff in front of record crowds at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Pearl River, New York on Sunday, March 21. Leading the now famous contingent were Venture President, John Murphy and agency Chief Operating Officer, George Hoehmann.  Also marching with the Venture group this year were Councilman Frank Borelli of Clarkstown and Bill Sherwood, the Supervisor of the Town of Stony Point.
Like a spring day in Ireland, the weather was perfect on the Avenue.  As the Venture group made their way down these now familiar streets, they were greeted by the enthusiastic applause of the throngs of onlookers as they passed.

And, what a handsome and noble group they were, but it was “Star” who stole the show with the little ones. This diminutive representative of the Venture Equine family was there to greet the children and charm their parents.

Once again, the Venture presence at the parade was historic and much thanks for a wonderful presentation goes to the recreation staff and to all the staff who were there for this very special occasion.

And, though Venture was not represented by its Executive Director, Dan Lukens at this year’s parade, his (much better looking) daughter Sarah was there as a member of the recreation staff to honor a family tradition, now in its third generation.
