The Wingmen Ride for Venture
The roar of motorcycle engines made for an exciting Sunday morning as members of the Wingmen and a number of their friends from other area motorcycle clubs turned out for a ride and picnic event to benefit the Venture Equestrian Center.
Assembling in the Venture Industries parking lot on May 2nd was an amazing complement of bikes, mostly Harley Davidsons and some pretty serious looking riders.
These very affable and gracious denizens of the open road were on their way shortly after twelve for a tour of the local byways.
Thundering back by 1:30 or so, the group rubbed elbows with Venture staff, friends and family and enjoyed a barbeque, courtesy of Sabrett, the event’s principal corporate sponsor.
The riders got comfortable as AC Black and the Electric Friends band cranked up the music, offering their new friends a taste of Venture’s favorite rock phenomenon. It was a fun and relaxed afternoon as a new group of friends rubbed elbows with the Venture crowd.
Also on hand was Venture Executive Director Dan Lukens, who showed up on his vintage Serveta. (And, no that’s not a communicable disease but a Spanish motorbike with all the power and speed of a snail on Prozac.)
Special thanks to Joe Meyer for organizing the event and to all the riders who made it a day for Camp Venture.
